Eddie Hearn has insisted he had nothing to do with the deal which brought Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul to Sky Sports PPV.
The promoter has an exclusive UK pact with the broadcaster, which is due to expire at the end of this month.
It’s been confirmed Hearn is set to move away from Sky and take his stable to DAZN from July onwards.
Regardless, as Floyd vs Logan is a fight between two US fighters taking place overseas, he would have had no say over Sky’s UK broadcast agreement.
It was announced last month that Sky would air the exhibition on their box office PPV platform.
Hearn was previously critical of the bout and refused to change his opinion now it’s on the platform he’s currently aligned with.
When asked about the fight being on Sky, Hearn told iFL TV: “You can’t blame me for that one, dreadful.
“Listen, people are gonna watch it, aren’t they?
“I did Logan Paul vs KSI, but it was a fight between two YouTubers who couldn’t really fight – now you’ve got a bloke who can’t fight against one of the greatest fighters of all time.
“I can’t go back on what I’ve already said about the fight because it’s now on PPV.
“I wasn’t involved with it, it’s got nothing to do with me, enjoy the show.”
The price for the UK PPV is £16.95. It has also been confirmed to cost $49.99 on US PPV.
Fanmio are hosting an online PPV worldwide at the same price.
The website advertising Showtime’s PPV price in America has also revealed how many rounds the fight will be.
They are billing it as an ‘eight-round special exhibition.’
