Tyson Fury might be walking away from professional boxing, but he is very serious about competing in some exhibition fights.
In wake of his sixth-round knockout victory over Dillian Whyte in front of 94,000 people at Wembley, Fury said he wanted some of that ‘Mayweather money’ to compete in exhibitions.
He noted that UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou was on his list of opponents and some boxing fans might not be aware that Ngannou is the proud owner of the hardest recorded punch on planet earth today.
However, Fury himself said at his post-fight press conference that he can ‘hit like a thunderstorm’ and after seeing the uppercut he delivered to Whyte, many would agree.
“I’m the best heavyweight there’s ever been, there ain’t ever been one who could beat me,” he declared before those in the press room applauded.
The 33-year-old continued: “I’m not just being confident. Six foot nine frame, 270 pound weight, can move like a middleweight, can hit like a thunderstorm and can take a punch like anybody else.
“I’ve got balls like King Kong, a heart of a lion, the mindset of the Wizard Oz, it is what it is.”
Fury now has 23 knockout wins on his resumé – one more than even Anthony Joshua.

However, Ngannou is a force of nature in the cage. The Cameroonian is 20-3 in his MMA career but has 12 knockouts to his name, eight of which have come in the first round. Fury has three first-round KOs to his name in 33 fights.
UFC president Dana White has previously explained how The Predator literally hits as hard as a car.
“Francis is a guy who has the world record for the most powerful punch,” UFC president Dana White explained when introducing him to the stage ahead of his first showdown with Stipe Miocic, at UFC 220 in 2018.
“His punches are equivalent to 96 horse power. That’s equal to getting hit by a Ford Escort going as fast as it can and it’s more powerful than a 12-pound sledgehammer from full force overhead. Holy s***.”
Essentially, Ngannou has enough power in his hands to a kill a man and Fury, who dealt with Deontay Wilder’s power so well, wants to play with fire once more.
After Fury’s victory over Whyte, Ngannou entered the ring and the pair teased the big time superfight, which looks set to take place in 2023.
Fury began: “I’m the boxing heavyweight champion, he’s the UFC heavyweight champion. He’s in great shape, look at the muscles on him.”
Ngannou then chipped in, saying: “We’re going to find out who is the baddest motherf***** on the planet.”
Ngannou’s UFC contract runs until the end of 2022, so he would be free to pursue the fight from January 1, 2023.
Crossover boxing fights rarely go well for the non-boxer, but surely we would see a stoppage at the very least when these two mammoth men collide.
Ngannou has also suggested that the crossover event could take place in Africa, heralding the idea as Rumble in the Jungle II.
